Georgia Militia leader calls for followers to overload 911 emergency system on April 19
Edited on Fri Apr-16-10 11:38 AM by ck4829
Longtime Georgia militia organizer Jim Stachowiak reportedly has called on his fellow militiamen to discharge their weapons at midnight, thereby causing a flood of citizens to call 911 and overload emergency services. Stachowiak’s plans prompted the Alabama Fusion Center, which focuses on the prevention of terrorism, to issue an April 9 bulletin warning law enforcement agencies that “an individual with militia ties in Georgia” is “coordinating a plan” with the intent to “disrupt emergency services.”

Can you imagine what would happen if a Muslim tried to overload the 911 emergency system?

13. This isn't terrorism, you sillies
This is a white guy we're talking about. And he's not keying an SUV or torching some forest-raping piece of equipment (which is officially "eco-terrorism"), so it's completely okay and legitimate. Fox News will be along to explain it all.

6. If they actually follow through on this and someone actually in need of help dies,
I hope that they charge the cowardly bastards with manslaughter or murder.

This country is growing more crazed by the day it seems.

Of course, it has nothing to do with the fact that President Obama happens to be an AA, I'm sure.

8. Okay- anyone here from Georgia?
I would contact the authorities and file a complaint with law enforcement NOW.
This is a crime. ANY messing with 911 is a crime...like making a phony phone call as a prank, you can still get arrested.

This guys is playing with fire...and taxpayers PAY for the 911 service. If he cooses not to use it, that's fine...but messing with pother's safety is just WRONG.

I would like to hear of the feds or the state DA going after this guy...

11. What a good idea, advertise and show what fools you are. But, how many would call if they heard a
gunshot? Seriously. If I heard a gun fire, I'd wonder wtf and be watchful, but not call 911 unless it was right by me.

17. If, OTOH, you were to hear a fulilade of gunfire, sounding like
an ongoing gunfight a block away, you think you might call then?

Hearing a single shot sparks a much different response than hearing ten or twenty shots.

And let's not forget, every round discharged into the air has to come back down somewhere. There well could be injuries, even deaths, directly attributable to this display, besides the results of 911 denial of service.

I don't think there is enough disinfectant or soap at the end of the day for the people that do this work to cleanse themselves of the filth. Hats off to them.

16. they have to come up with SOME plan to get their weapons confiscated or impounded.
they've been freaking about the gov taking their guns for almost 2 years now. getting stale. they want some action and they want to be right.

if I were planning a bold crime (robbery, etc.), i'd schedule it for about 5 minutes after the big kaboomfest.

24. Absolutely ridiculous
I live 35 miles from the Atlanta city limit. Definitely within the outer suburbs. On any given night you can hear gun fire intermittently from nightfall till about 1 AM.

I've heard strings of high-powered rifle shots fired during downpours of rain.

County ordinance prohibits gunfire within 100 yards of a major thoroughfare. The ordinance is often ignored, but you don't see Sheriff's Deputies cruising the neighborhood looking for the source.

You'd need frags in abundance to tie up law enforcement. Gunfire isn't going to attract any attention outside an urban area.
