Can the repigs take control of Congress?
Taking the classic Tip O'Neill "all politics is local" approach, The Cook Political Report examines the 435 House races individually. That step-by-step process indicates that Democrats will lose 30 seats, 10 shy of what Republicans need to take control. But this year, the overall national environment must also be taken into account.

1. Charlie Cook is always looking for a reason to shoot down Democrats.
Strange how the nation is always polarized when a Democrat is in the Whitehouse.

2. Sure
If Democrats and liberal independants stay home.

Anyone who thinks things will be better if we just have a few more JD Hayworthless's in Congress are the teabaggers. I'm not willing to let them win if I can help it.

Geez, it's easy to vote. Absentee ballots are easy to come by if you are too lazy to get your ass off the couch and walk down to your local polling place.

3. Politically its an eternity between now and November.
A lot could happen that could effect things either way.

But I'm much more optimistic than I was two weeks ago.

I also think that the "all politics is local" is a very bad maxim to describe this year politically.
