Anybody here actually watched that creationist puff piece "Expelled"? I need something.

I need to know if Ben Stein uttered these words in that film:

"When we just saw that man, I think it was Mr. Myers (biologist P.Z. Myers), talking about how great scientists were, I was thinking to myself the last time any of my relatives saw scientists telling them what to do they were telling them to go to the showers to get gassed ... that was horrifying beyond words, and that's where science - in my opinion, this is just an opinion - that's where science leads you."

A video clip would be perfect.

and certainly didn't want to sacrifice any brain cells watching it, but he was expelled from "Expelled," prevented from entering a showing. http://richarddawkins.net/articles/2394

However, trying to connect the Holocaust directly to Darwin would seem to be the guts of that idiotic opus. Wiki has a fairly good discussion of it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Expelled_%28movie%29

As to You Tube clips, you're on your own. You should find what you're looking for by taking quotes from Wiki and searching You Tube.

Again, I'm old and I can't spare those brain cells.

2. I made it 2 minutes into the thing and turned it off because of the crap Stein was

spewing. But leave it to a conservative to paint science black while ignoring how religion has always attacked science when it called any religious myth into question, like the earth was the center of the universe and the sun revolved around the earth. Not one mention how religion responded to scientist for voicing their observations that went against religious crap.

excellent article on Expelled in the Chicago Sun Times achieves by Roger Ebert. It is "Ben Stein's Mind". But, it is now so massive from all the commentary that it takes forever to download. It is well worth your time, however. Roger tears Ben a new one.
