Freeper sees Sarah Palin as numerogical "Song Of Bernadete"
...um, or something....

(cue cookoo clock sound FX)

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-religion/2495826/posts

"Interestingly, Sarah Palin's 44th birthday, which occurred on February 11, 2008, coincided with the beginning of the sesquicentennial, or 150th, anniversary of the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary to a young French girl, Bernadette Soubirous, in the village of Lourdes, France. Lourdes is principally known for the numerous cures that have taken place there over the last 150 years. Lourdes, however, has a deeper theological meaning for Catholics, which is less well known, and the juxtaposition of Palin's introduction onto the global stage with the sesquicentennial may contain a deeper significance for the world, in general, and for the United States, in particular."

2. Ha, she might just do that anyway.
I noticed that since the advent of cameras all apparitions appear on toast or greasy pizza boxes. What a comedown from the apparition-in-the-sky days!

4. In the Catholic tradition, Mary appears to illiterate, poor people.
She is the champion of humble people, not shrieking grifters. She is more of a kitchen god than a sky god -- appearing in places where people work with their hands.

6. Well, Revelations -does- mention the "whore of Babylon" Maybe that is the true portent.
Revelation 17

17:4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
17:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

Makes as much sense to me as the idea that she is somehow affiliated with the Blessed Virgin Mary... Geez

:patriot:

Lo, like the multiplying of loaves and fishes, she hath turned a failed vice presidential bid and a partial term as state governor into millions of simoleans.

16. That makes my teeth hurt
I really love how Freepers abhor and decry whatever they deem to be "occult" activities as black magic and pagan and then turn around and use those same activities to prove their favorite belief.
