CNN"Why was Sen. Cornyn there?," Crowley queried. "Candy,
is the one who is trying to politicize this issue. We are the ones who are trying to get it right," he replied.

Well, here is a rare instance where a journalist actually tries to get a straight answer from a Republican such as why were McConnell (Kentucky) and Cornyn (Texas) meeting with Wall Street executives, then immediately shouting out Frank Lutz talking points after the meeting that bore no relationship to reality. So, kudos to Candy even though she did not really get a straight answer with respect to what exactly do the Republicans (publicly) want on the bill. Privately, of course, they are trying to strip out regulation of derivatives.
Sadly, this is the exception rather than the rule as Republicans typically get a free pass while the President gets quizzed about procedural minutia on health care reform on Fox News, rather than discussing the substance.
