FL Gov race tightening.. McCollum: 40% Sink 36% (Quinnipiac)..
April 19, 2010 - McCollum Leads Tight Florida Governor's Race, Quinnipiac University Poll Finds

Republican State Attorney General Bill McCollum holds a narrow 40 - 36 percent lead over Florida Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink, the Democrat, in the race for Florida governor, while Floridians' view of President Barack Obama is up from a 45 - 49 percent negative in January to 50 - 45 percent positive today, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today.

Very good news indeed.. Florida is looking better and better. We could end up with a left leaning Independent Senator (Crist) replacing a Republican and Dem Gov replacing a "Republican". Could be a good night for FL Dems in November.

to go Indy I think he has it. Meek really needs to get some name recognition, Florida is a big state.

3. Seems Meek's only hope would be if Rubio and Crist bash each so much..
that Meek can sneak in there under the radar and win with about 35% of the vote.. Its possible.

9. It will depend how the polls play out.
Frankly, if Meek either pulls ahead of both Crist and Rubio to a 10% advantage over both of them, I'd vote Meek in a heartbeat. As would I if Rubio has a giant lead over both Crist and Meek--I'll vote my principles. But if Meek is lagging far behind in third and Crist and Rubio are locked in a tight race, I'll probably vote for Crist because there's no way I'd want to see Rubio win.

11. BTW, Crist just pulled all his ads in the Orlando and Tampa Bay market...
suggesting he is getting ready to regroup...

I suspect he will announce running as an "I" by the end of the week.

6. Uh, no.
She came out very strong and swinging against SB 6 and I believe she has a great campaign and a good chance at beating McCollum. If she continues to harness the grassroots efforts things should go well, although not easily.

8. Good news. I think the SB6 veto may have something to do with this.
Because the GOP lead legislature is sure to try this again, knowing if it is McCollum in the Gov's seat, he'll sign it in a blink of an eye. Sink will likely veto it. And I think the general public became very upset when then read about the implications of SB6 and they might be more inclined to vote for an opponent of it.

McCollum is indeed a snake. Has been one since the infamous Clinton impeachment days. He's done little to live up to the positive legacies of the past two AGs (Crist and the excellent Bob Butterworth.)
