LTTE, Need help with a slogan
My LTTE got printed today and I am responding to a comment it got. I am trying to remember a bumper sticker I once saw, but am drawing a blank. Please help me remember.

It was about voting Repub
if you want dirty air and water, etc.

I know somebody here has got to have that one

Anyway, here is my letter as it was printed:

For whom does Burgess work?

Congressman Burgess is working hard for the constituents of Texas Congressional District 26, or so he would have us believe.

But who are his constituents?

• Are they the 558,000 residents with health insurance in this district whose coverage will be improved by health care reform?

• Perhaps they are among the 158,000 families and 13,600 small businesses that will receive tax credits and other assistance to help them afford coverage.

• Maybe they are the 85,000 Medicare recipients who will no longer find themselves navigating a doughnut hole alone.

• They might be one of the 104,000 uninsured residents who will now be covered, or one of 21,200 residents who can now obtain coverage despite their pre-existing condition.

• Could they be one of the 72,000 young adults living in the district who can now be covered on their parents’ health insurance policy?

• Maybe they work for one of the hospitals or other health providers here that will benefit from a $249 million reduction in uncompensated care.

So, who is the Congressman working so hard for?

Not for us.

Repeal and replace Congressman Burgess.

2. Thanks
The paper printed 4 liberal letters today. One of the comments takes a swipe at all of them. LOL

There are a few of us down here in Texas.

:hi:

BTW, Nance, For some inexplicable reason I thought that you were not around here anymore. I am glad I was wrong!

:hi:
