But it never hurts to be a squeaky wheel to remind them.

Do I think there are still many in the administration and congress who would gleefully pass any and all gun control legislation, if there were no political consequences? Absolutely.

eta: Obama is a pragmatist. I think he realizes that a wedge issue like guns right now would derail much more important issues (financial reform, immigration, GLBT issues.) When he gets a second term, and if by that point he's made great strides in these other areas? Yup, I can see gun control rearing it's ugly head. Of course we'd have to see where congress is at when that happens as well.

about the topic. Highly effective method used to fool people you are doing something. Take greenwich ct, no crime. Then take some shithole city in CT, gun crime, lots of it. HMM, I wonder if income has something to do with it?

Hey, guns are banned in Chicago, but parts of it are a fucking warzone. Wonder if drug law has anything to do with that?

You really think any political party is going to legalize drugs? Nope. Freakonomics buddy, the world does not work in doofus simple mode.

But hey in simple town if you just ban it all the problem goes away.

10. The CNN live cam spanned around multiple times..

.. at the DC rally, which was supposed to be larger. Max 250-300 participants, and LOTS of media and news cameras.

Of course, that doesn't count those that came then later left, but I doubt it's anywhere near the 2k they were looking for.
