Tea Party speaker gay-baits Lindsey Graham

At a Tea Party rally in Greenville, S.C., last week, a speaker tried to figure out just what, exactly, is wrong with Graham. "Barney Frank has been more honest and brave than you. At least we know about Barney Frank, nobody’s going to hold it over his head."

He continued, "Look, I’m a tolerant person. I don’t care about your private life, Lindsey. But as our U.S. senator, I need to figure out why you’re trying to sell out your own countrymen, I need to make sure you being gay isn’t it."

2. But do gays? That being said, no one deserves to be slandered
without it being called out. Graham has enough real negs, none need to be invented, certainly not ones that use "gay" as a derogatory remark.

5. It's not because they're homophobic, so stop saying that!
After all, the guy just wanted to know why Lindsey Graham was selling out his own countrymen. And naturally, the first, most logical reason that suggested itself - as we all know it would to anyone else - was that Lindsey might be gay. He was just trying to rule that out, you see. He's tolerant! Said so himself. And his pals don't hate President Obama "just" because he's black. That's just sort of the icing on the cake. So to speak. So they aren't racists, either.

They just say a lot of homophobic and racist things, that's all. Honestly, it's like 99% of the tea baggers give the rest of them a bad name, and it's just not fair!

6. so... selling out his countrymen FOR ANY REASON OTHER THAN BEING GAY is just fine???
so in theory the questioner would be fine with an answer such as, "i assure you that either i am not gay, or, in the case that i am gay, that is not the reason i am selling out my countrymen. no, sir, i am selling out my countryman for pure, unadulterated personal profit!"

15. I would guess so.
After all, the homophobic teabagger couldn't possibly identify with a gay person for any reason. Pure greed is something the entire movement can identify with.

Something is wrong here.

10. Quite a few people here have absolutely zero room to talk
given all the Linsey Grahm is gay threads we have suffered through here.

12. I will call out the hypocrisy, if it turns out they are bashing the exactly
what they are. Whether it be Mark Foley, Larry Craig, Ted Haggard, or any of the others who spent years railing against the so called immorality of democrats, gays, etc., they deserved to be called out on their hypocrisy.

13. Haven't been to freeperville for awhile
but this was always being talked about over there, especially when Goober and McInsane were pushing their amnesty proposals at the end of the Bush administration.

The only reason Graham got nominated and elected Senator was because of his 'service' to the Rethugs during the Clinton impeachment. If he hadn't had that in his resume, they'd have never elected him outside of his old district. Just another albatross around GOP necks for having engaged in the futility of impeachment.
