Facebook Group Asks God to Kill Obama

Yet another venue for angry Americans to vent their hate. Tom has a post about vile Tweeters threatening Nancy Pelosi and others. And on Facebook there’s a group asking the Lord to do for Barack Obama what He did for Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson and “Patrick Swayzie”. (Does spell check not exist among tea partiers and other Bama Bashers?)

DEAR LORD, THIS YEAR YOU TOOK MY FAVORITE ACTOR, PATRICK SWAYZIE. YOU TOOK MY FAVORITE ACTRESS, FARAH FAWCETT. YOU TOOK MY FAVORITE SINGER, MICHAEL JACKSON. I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW, MY FAVORITE PRESIDENT IS BARACK OBAMA. AMEN.








Even more troubling is that more than half a million Facebook users joined the group and “Like This” and are obviously willing to have their names and photos adorn the page.

as soon as I saw this I "un-friended" them.

I don't mind if people have opposing political beliefs, but I draw the line when they advocate harm or death.

I couldn't stand Bush, but I never would have put something like that up about him on FB. I never would have posted something like that on DU, for that matter. I put up with a lot from right wing relatives and childhood friends, but that was where I drew the line.

I just unfriended a cousin who become a fan of that page. I was horrified to see this pop up on her page. I just clicked "unfriend". If she emails me about it, I'll tell her why.

So far, I have only seen one FB friend who had the nerve to cut & paste that nonsense as her status. I considered replying to her and asking her if it was OK for me to pray for HER death, since I disagree with her political beliefs, or maybe even the deaths of her children, since she's probably raising them as little right-wing mouth-breathers, but I figured the best thing to do was to take the high road and just ignore it.

I'm not sure which I found more disturbing: the fact that she had the nerve to use it as her FB status, or the fact that the ONE reply she got was from some other woman I don't know, and it was just one word............."HILARIOUS!!!"
