the oil rig explosion - what can they say now

Well I'm sure we have all heard the drill baby drill crew; the reinsurance's of the oil cartels (how safe off shore drilling is) ;and we have all seen the videos of the catastrophe by the media!
to begin with how many times have we been told a rig could not sink,an explosion could not happen, oil could not escape in case of an emergency?
how many days now has the oil fire been burning? how has the rhetoric changed? the rig sank, the oil escaped, the fire never got controlled.
it appears the oil slick is now of major concern and we need to go back to the drawing board to be able to respond better and to be able to stop the flow of oil into the sea faster!
lets tell the truth-drill baby drill is a sound byte! and environmental risks are being taken!
lets clean up the errors and lower the risk taking!

1. It will be blamed on Al Gore
I don't know exactly how, but it will.

3. Right now it's not looking as bad as was originally thought
The well head is not currently leaking and what you have is the residue of the fire and a slick from the initial explosion.

Over all, if there's going to be an accident of this magnitude, this has been textbook in containment. Estimates that this was worse than the Exxon Valdez incident were grossly overstated and dependent on the well head continuing to leak, which simply is not happening at this time.

6. If you haven 't noticed
they're saying as little as possible. Anderson Cooper was the only person to have extensive coverage. ABC had a two minute report.
Remember now that M$Greedia has time to follow a balloon cross country.

7. first I want to say, I'm against the use of all fossil fuels...
however, I'm not so stupid to believe that I don't use them in one way or another on a daily basis.

I'm not in favor of more drilling.

But to say in the face of reality, "look I'm right, you are wrong", when you type your indignation on a computer made form oil products, transported to where you work or live via oil products and heated (maybe in the northeast) by oil products.

I feel really sorry for those workers on that platform that died and sad for their families. It's really shitty shitty work. Sometimes, it's the only opportunity for work. Much like people who work in coal mines.

Although, we would love to have a world without the need for oil, sadly we are going to be using it for a long time to come. Even while it fails to meet our needs.

It amazes me how people get all bent out shape AFTER the spill. As if the rigs didn't exist prior to it.

Do you drive to work or use any plastic products? Then you are also partly responsible for that accident.

The guilt shouldn't be put on someone else because of their half-assed proclamations. We are all responsible for it.

They have been drilling in the gulf for decades.

The disconnect of the American population is staggering.
