"If ever you propound an argument
and all the other side can do in response is have a tantrum, you may consider yourself the winner, by default, of that debate. It is, I grant you, small consolation, but I commend it to you anyway. If you insist on trying to be a reasonable person in an unreasonable time, you should get used to small consolations. " Leonard Pitts, Columnist, Miami Herald

4. I've always considered that to be true...
Nice to see someone put it to eloquence! Kudos, Mr. Pitts.

6. Well, mostly true...
...but sometimes, when a person has already patiently argued against a given bad argument many times already, but other people keep coming back with the same stupidity which has been well debunked (often the same people, not just newbies who haven't heard any good counterarguments yet), I can't blame that person for occasionally wanting to blow off steam in the face of unrelenting idiocy and bad memes that refuse to die.

7. i hear ya!
I admit to getting frustrated in the face of those "temper tantrum" arguments, the lack of logic and critical thinking, the inability to see an issue from more than just ONE POV, the fingers-in-the-ears-lalala personality type who won't - or can't - even begin to comprehend that their world view just might be !gasp! wrong, or at least very very biased and one-sided.

Then, yeah, I've been known to get a little "temper-y" myself.
