CNN's Jack Cafferty Wins Media Putz Award for His Response to Legalized Racial Profiling in Arizona: 'So What?'

Jack Cafferty (CNN)

For reporting that is an embarrassment to the profession of journalism, and for being beholden to corporate paymasters rather than the citizens of America.

"So what?"

-snip-

CNN's Cafferty must think that racial profiling is completely legal. Either way, it's certainly no reason to get upset. In a recent segment about a new law pending in Arizona that would require police to arrest anyone who cannot immediately prove that they are legally in the country, Cafferty made every dismissive move but roll his eyes:

President Obama insists that his administration is committed to securing the borders and has taken unprecedented steps over the past 14 months. What a load...

Arizona is taking measures into its own hands. The state senate has passed a tough new immigration law that will force police to arrest people who can't prove they're in the country legally.
Now critics say that would lead to racial profiling. Well, so what?

-snip-

Not only does Cafferty try and scare his viewers into agreeing with him by suggesting that 20 percent of illegal immigrants in Arizona have criminal records, he doesn't give any source to back up the assertion.

2. I disagree with Jack on this one, but on avg. I love to listen
to Jack's tirades. He's the comic side of the Sit Room and I'm getting to really dislike Blitzer. I used to watch the SR every day from 4-6 before switching to Ed Show, but I now have MSNBC on almost all day and switch to hear Jack's question on SR then back to Rattigan & Hardball. Most of the time Jack brings much needed laughter into my life!

3. Thom Hartmann had a clip of an incident in AZ
this morning. The law isn't even in effect yet, and already a legal trucker was taken to jail in chains because he didn't have his birth certificate on him.
