It's obvious the Poultry for Physicians has been one of the most popular subjects lately. I like it because of how it made me laugh uncontrollably. When I was explaining the story to a friend who hadn't heard the story I kept cracking up because as I verbalized it, the story kept looking more and more ridiculous. It's like Marx Brother's meeting Monty Python. Frankly, I needed the levity...

Anyone have any chicken health care reform jokes?

Anyone know what kind of Bird Woodstock from Peanuts is :)

It has the peanuts, as in feading them nuts.
It has woodstock, the hippies, so we already got birds.
It has the flying ace, and even a trail of ballons.

Not the bad red ballons, but more information ballons, not destructive ones.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14IRDDnEPR4
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jQYQTFudrqc But with the same effect on some groups of people.

Then there is the whole idea that Snoopy imagines his fights against the Red Barron while on the roof of his Dog House.

Posted right after Rachel quoted the saying all guys are dogs, so was going with that also.

There is a few other things, the Riddick glasses, The Na Na Na, is a bit hard to find but it is there.

Thought it was pretty good.

4. That many? So, it's clearly too late to avoid becoming a gay Bolivian socialist?
Oh well...if it's too late to avoid it, might as well roll with it...

Party at my house, amigos!
Drop by any time after 8:00, and we'll all take turns
at "controlling the means of production".

Pamphleteers welcome!

5. Its not about controlling production.
It is not letting other motives control production. The whole point of the failing of extreme capitalism is the profit motive.

Classic capitalism has competition. And it does make lots of goods, but when it starts setting social policy it creates problems. So some regulation has to put its love of the profit motive into social good. That is what we the people have to do through a representative government.

Saying socialism is bad because it tries to control production, ignores how capitalism does the same thing through price setting or monopolies. Or even creating entire sectors that really do nothing except make money.

7. I don't expect everyone to ENJOY my jokes...but you didn't even know I was making one? Scary.
The last person I knew who was as utterly humorless as you
had several bodies interred in the crawlspace beneath his mobile home.

Please don't ever attempt to speak to me again.

8. I did know you were making a joke.
But your joke is the same thing many people on the right have actually started to believe.

So I was not responding to you, but to the fact that your comment is funny, because some people do think that any limitation on Capitalism is socialism.

I get your joke about never wanting me to speak to you again, saying I am not humorous is funny. The hours of laughs from such connections keep me in almost constant joy. Although serious in a way, some of them are really funny, but some people don't always get that half of it.

Both your posts are a witty use of sarcasm.

I just took the opportunity to speak of one of the concepts your joke was based off of. :)

9. Let's hope that others who read this thread may be thinking about what they saw.
Even if they didn't understand it.

Saying that you aren't humorous is just about the funniest
thing I've ever posted here - I'm glad you understood my intent
and played along with a straight face.

I always thought you were awesome- now I know it for a fact.

You rock.

Hug back to you

Here is how I see that song 99 red balloons, that is the Lord Of The Rings story.

While the eye was looking elsewhere, the red balloons got through. Not the bad ballons, the good ones. :)

And I do think the President is on the front lines and needs all the support he can get.

And in my view, Won by One. Whatever winning might be...

Or if you like, the Federation has deployed 99 Star Ships to patrol the sector. :D
Make that 100 :D

18. The "Chickens for Docs" plan is going to create millions of new jobs!
Chicken plucker will be one of them. And then we'll need more doctors to treat the infections and ailments from exposing chickens to sick people waiting in his office. Can you imagine how many diseases chickens would spread? Even in 'sterile' environments like hospitals they can't control infections, so a room full of patients holding chickens is bound to cause even more sicknesses, and the need to hire more doctors and nurses which will cause health care cost to explode at an even higher rate!

11. The Real Question...
How many impressions did this stupidity make on the voters of Nevada. First...the voters in the GOOP primary. She's not a shoe-in to go against Reid and I'm "concerned" that she may gaffe herself too early...embarass herself too much that she loses the primary to a truly serious candidate. No doubt if she's spewed stupid shit like this she has others in the closet and more to come.

20. Amen JNelson! I'm new to DU but I love this place.
I live in a 'Bubbadom' surrounded by red necks. It's tea bagger country where I still see Bush/Cheney bumper stickers. It's nice to be able to go to a 'virtual world' so I can talk with friends who are of a like mind. And at least if I 'talk' with someone here I won't get shot at, like I could in my little hamlet of hicks.
