Really, Albertsons?
I just went to my local Albertsons. They had a large sign on the front door that said Buy two 24 packs of Dasani water and get a free reusable shopping bag. Any good that one free reusable shopping bag would do is completely canceled out by the fact that they are buying 48 plastic bottles.

1. Yes, but
there are a number of folks that would buy two 24 packs of bottled water regardless. If they get a reusable shopping bag, maybe they use it rather than having to use store bags. I find it unlikely that someone who would otherwise NOT buy bottled water would do so to get a shopping bag.

Maybe a baby step. I try to look at the potential positive in light of the obviously stupid.

3. I had to quit Albertsons. They are too expensive - go to Frys or Wal-Mart
now and I had shopped Albertsons for years.

4. I compared Albertson's prices w/ Basha's and Safeway
and found Albertson's to be cheaper on the things that I buy. I don't like Fry's and won't shop Walmart.

8. Wal-Mart is against my religion......
I don't do Wal-mart either...never. Albertson's in the Dallas area has improved and prices are comparable--when I first moved to this area I really disliked this store but they did some revisions/ remodeling and things have really improved. Someone had a marketing idea but it was not thought through completely, or so it seems.

12. I only go to Albertson's for my meds and soda
Nothing else - go to Kroger-owned company (Union store - go Local 11) or Target

10. true but, alternatives to consumption
are much better than recycling.

we need to go a lot further that relying on recycling

use a filter pitcher or device and carry a reusable water bottle when going out
