Laura Bush suggests she and President Bush may have been poisoned during trip to Germany

Former First Lady Laura Bush suggests in her new, soon-to-be-published memoir, 'Spoken from the Heart,' that she and President George W. Bush, as well as several members of their staff, may have been poisoned during a trip to Germany for a G8 Summit. A copy of the book scheduled for release in May was obtained by The New York Times. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/28/books/28laura.html?src=twt&twt=nytimes

"They all became mysteriously sick," reveals the NYT, "and the president was bedridden for part of the trip. The Secret Service investigated the possibility they were poisoned, she writes, but doctors could only conclude that they all contracted a virus. After noting several high-profile poisonings, she wrote, “we never learned if any other delegations became ill, or if ours, mysteriously, was the only one.”'

1. Laura Bush
is surprised that they went to a foreign country and got mysteriously sick. I think she might be a conspiracy theorist.

5. Along with all her accomplishments (scholar and pedagogue of international renown),
she's also an MD and a diagnostician to boot.

Impressive, grasshopper.

15. She does too
It was a well known fact that there was something in Ms. Laura Bush's tea cup. You would drink too if you were married to Dubya and had Barbara for a mother-in-law:puke: :puke: :puke:

4. This is so damned irresponsible (why am I surprised)...
the SS should slap them down for such an unsubstantiated tale. I'd be willing to bet they became ill from norovirus or other similarly highly infectious, readily spread virus.

As to her tale of the fatal car wreck, where she blames everyone, including the victim (for not having a heavier sturdier car as she was driving when she plowed throw a stop sign to hit him), any respect I ever had for this woman is gone. DUers, I say the gloves are off. She is every bit the irresponsible "entitled" despicable "thing" as her mother-in-law.

9. I hope bush spends the remainder of his days worrying whether someone is out to get him
for all the damage he has done, & justice he escaped, it seems fair that they worry. It's the VERY LEAST of what he deserves.

Oh Laura, why do you sling shit? Don't you get how absolutely crass that accusation is? Or are you hinting it was teh Liberals!

I'm sure it would have worked if your story were real.

14. We almost saw another Bush president upchuck on a foreign
head of state. I'm thankful that Laura kept W in bed when he was "sick" at the G8 Summit.

16. Geez - just look at that last sentence. "we never learned...
if any other delegations became ill, or if ours, mysteriously, was the only one."

Um, so what was mysterious? That you think you were the only delegation who may have become ill even though you never asked any of the other delegations if they were ill?

This is a bunch of horse sh*t. No one thinks they were poisoned. Even at the time no one thought they were poisoned, they just investigated it because they had to rule it out, not because they thought it was true. It's standard procedure.

The only thing "mysterious" about the whole thing is why the hell is she thinks them getting the flu in Germany is worthy of mention in her stupid book. What else? A chapter on her and Georgie fighting Montezuma's Revenge after a second honeymoon one long weekend in Nuevo Laredo? Who gives a flying f*ck!!
