6. Crist is popular with conservative Democrats
and there are a lot of those in Florida. I think he will likely win, between Republicans with an ounce of good sense and conservative Democrats who don't mind the fact that he's an antichoice freak.

Then again, by the time all the mud is slung, Meeks might come out ahead simply because the GOP/Tebaggers are all throwing their entire mud supply at Crist.

It will be very interesting to watch.

8. If he sticks to his staunch anti Cuba/ pro embargo stance, he'll fit right in the Dem party.
After, that's the current ridiculous policy of this US admin.

9. Unfortunately, every president inherits the State Department bureaucracy
which is full to the brim with stodgy men who are still living in the early 60s regarding Cuba.

Eventually both Castro brothers will die and so will the stodgy men and that's what we'll have to wait for if we want that silly policy to change.

23. What makes you think they're old codgers?
The stodgiest of all are the ones in their 30s who are brown nosing their way to the top by reinforcing all that garbage.

4. I guess if he wins he will take Lieberman's role of token Independent in the Senate.
Cause you know Lieberman is going to declare himself Republican after the election.

15. not even close..nothing like Lieberman!..not even close to the same scenerio!
Lieberman lost the primary to another dem..In this case Crist can ( will?) not run in the primary as a repuke..

Lieberman shit all over the democratic primary winner!

Totally different scenerio!

Please do not even attempt to use an analogy like that..because that then becomes propaganda..and is wrong!

17. I was only comparing Crist and Lieberman's independent party affiliation, not their motives or...
character.

And, I only did that to bring up the fact that I believe Lieberman will declare Republican if we lose the majority in the Senate.

19. well thank you but we in Fla are hearing the same stuff and it is angering us..
What Charlie is doing is nothing like what Lieberman did or who Lieberman is..and I along with many Fla Dem's want to quell that meme pronto.

In fact many Dem's in Fla will be glad if Charlie runs Indy..as we will then have an "OPEN" primary..open to all voters and it is harder to steal an election with an Open primary.

And we Fla Dem's know..if we get Rubio we are fucked.

Meeks(D) has very little chance against Rubio and the Jeb machine. one on one.

If I have to swallow anyone other than Meeks ..it is Charlie.

Charlie is well liked by many Dem's in the state of Fla..

The only chance Meeks has ..it will be a split of Repukes.

Otherwise say hello to Senator Rubio..a total crook and fascist.

Meeks was in my very very large west coast county a couple weeks ago..hardly anyone went to see him! The gallery was so small they didn't show the gallery on local TV.

I went to a fund raiser for him 1 month ago..a luncheon in my county and 3 people showed up!

Meeks is known on the S. East coast of Fla..but no where else.

I think he has a fat babies fart of a chance to win this state. And he won't win against the stealing of votes..and the Jeb machine of Rubio.

But Charlie has a chance.

11. AND Christ said NO OIL DRILLING IN FLA!!!!
Gulf oil spill gives Florida's Gov. Charlie Crist pause over drilling.

Crist, who opposed drilling off Florida's coast until softening his stance over the past two years, said there is no question now that lawmakers should give up on the idea this year and in coming years. He has said previously he would support drilling if it was far enough from shore, safe enough and clean enough. He said the spill is proof that's not possible.

and compared to his predecessor he's been downright liberal overall.

18. Wow. I think this works out well.
Either:

a) The Republican vote gets split and Meek can take advantage

or

b) Crist gets elected as a centrist Independent, which is still preferable than a hard right Rubio.

I don't know how this would benefit Rubio in any way.

24. At this point, I don't know if anything could be worse than the second incarnation of Jeb Bush
Which is exactly what Rubio is.

I'll take Crist at 50/50 over Rubio at 0/100. Although I'm hoping it will be Meek.

the Dems have offered up some piss poor candidates down here lately.
