60. My brush with Winslow, AZ
I was on the Southwest Chief (pre-Amtrak) from Los Angeles to Chicago during the holiday season in the seventies, and the train ran out of beer. I asked the conductor if I had time to get off in Winslow and buy a case for me and my new-found friends in the Lounge car. He said yes, the stop was ten minutes, and there was a liquor store about 1/2 block from the station.

When the train came to a stop I bolted for the liquor store, grabbed my case, and as I was paying I looked through the door to see the train pulling away. I grabbed the case and took off, by the time I got back to the train it was already going 7-8mph. I threw the case through the door, the conductor pulled me in and we both ended up sprawled in the vestibule laughing our asses off.

Good times.

38. Footnote about UHaul
I have to say that my show at KPHX was sponsored by UHaul and when Arpaio's goons tried to get them to withdraw their support of the show, they didn't and continued to advertise on Nova M Radio/KPHX until the station went under due to management problems. Also there is a number of right wingers who are in high positions but they were overruled and that is thought to have caused a raid by Arpaio on one site.

The owner of UHaul's wife is a progressive and told my then producer that she would see to it my show was supported by UHaul as long it was on air because she believes it is important.

Just for your information and if you want to express a thought fine, but this is just facts I know about and you can form your own opinion as you wish. I will not comment beyond that on UHaul.

51. That's the problem with blanket boycotts like this
You end up harming a lot of people who are not a party to the law, who disagree with it, and may even be working to actively overturn it.

I won't boycott until I know a little more who I'm affecting - directly. Thanks for info.
