Boycott Petsmart
For those of you interested in boycotting Arizona and any Arizona based companies - Pesmart is headquartered in Phoenix Arizona.
As the owner of five pets (3 dogs and 2 cats) I guess that I have done my last shopping at Petsmart.

1. Sorry, but my cats need litter, food and treats and it's by far the closest place.

3. What is PetSmart's position on the issue?
I think it's better to politicize companies to address the state government than to punish them without knowing where they stand.

It's like saying I don't like my neighbor's yard so I'm not going to sell groceries to his kids, because his kids will make him get in line.

Don't know that I'm 100% comfortable with that, unless his kids turn out to whole heartedly support the status quo of the yard.

15. PETCO was in the news a couple of years ago
for neglecting the animals sold in their stores. Filthy fish tanks, turtle tanks, bird cages.

6. Write the company. That's what I'm doing. It isn't their fault but they may have influence.
I sent an e-mail to GoDaddy yesterday (the PR department) suggesting that they make a lot of noise about the "driving while brown" law and make it clear that they don't support it. I'm going to do the same with PetSmart and U-Haul. Of the businesses I've seen on the boycott lists, those are the only three that I do any business with.

10. Sorry. I just realized that.
We have a big Petsland here in KC that sells puppy mill puppies.

9. PetSmarts around here get their puppies & kitties from the local shelters
Yes there is a fee to adopt these animals; however, it's to cover the cost of fixing the pet and getting the shots up to date. I use to volunteer at a local PetSmart to help with the adoptions.

11. Nope - their employees are great,
and need their jobs. If someone can prove that they discriminate on an institutional level, let me know.

12. Uh huh.
Punish residents for the actions of their leaders...

Maybe we could just invade Arizona to remove their state legislature and governor. We'll be greeted as liberators.

13. Or we could boycott your posts, since you're from Oklahoma

There are only 50 states and more than 50 things to be outraged about, so you do the math.

14. We're boycotting PetSmart
We use a local petfood store for our dogs' food, but we've been using PetSmart's kennel (called the "Pethotel"). It sucks to not use PetSmart, but there it is. I understand why someone might not want to boycott, or might be unable to boycott.

16. Can't. The rescue group I foster for holds showings there
once a month. Of course, I can just not buy anything myself, but I can't not go there, or not participate in adoption events that bring people into the store.

18. They have good prices on cat food and such. I have 4 cats. And, actually I like Petsmart.
They aren't responsible for what the Governor has done.
