Florida House shut down by Democrats opposed to abortion bill
TALLAHASSEE -- Anti-abortion legislation that emerged in the final days of the lawmaking session has derailed the Florida Legislature -- prompting the House Democratic minority to use procedural rules to temporarily shut down their chamber and block bills from being heard.

Although Republicans hold a 76-44 majority in the House, bills passed between the two chambers in the hectic final days of the legislative session often require a two-thirds vote to be heard. Normally, that vote is routine – but Democrats objected this morning.

That blocked consideration of all bills coming from the Senate, and House Democrats promise to continue the tactic until Republican leaders agree to shelve an abortion bill that emerged, without committee hearings or public testimony, on the Senate floor Wednesday. The session ends Friday.

6. this freaking state doesn't even surprise me anymore.
the pukes have been having a field day since jeb stopped by and they've been stuffing their pockets with as much money as they can get their hands on but want to stop others from having a say in how their bodies are used.

Gaud, I gotta get outta here. The jobs suck, the tax structure sucks, it's starting to affect my thinking. I never thought it would come to that.

BTW,go Dems, it's about time.
