RFK Jr. accuses Bush admin. of not requiring Acoustic Regulators on oil wells
Rick Sanchez interviewed Robert F. Kennedy Jr, on the oil spill. RFK said they should have used acoustic regulators which automatically plug the hole --they explode the whole area and plug the hole. They are required in Europe, the North Sea, and other coountries.. But because the Bush administration had such a cozy relationship with the oil companies, the was no regulation--there was no federal oversight. It was the wild west out there and the oil companies did just abot anything they wanted, asssuring the people that no oils spilld would ever happen. The accoustic regulators were not required in the Gulf.

Here is the link to the 5 minute interview on CNN.

On the PBS news hour the head of the Coast Guard was interviewed and said there was a device that was supposed to seal the well, but it must have malfunctioned. That's all.

I wonder if we'll ever hear RFK's charges again.

1. Mike Malloy was just talking about this
He apparently couldn't get Bobby Kennedy on his show, but he did get his "Ring of Fire" partner Mike Papantonio, who lives on the Gulf Coast of Florida, so he's all over this too.

He'll probably be on for a few more minutes.

And of course, I'm sure it will be the topic of discussion on "ring of fire" tomorrow.

2. Thanks, RFK Jr. gave an excellent interview...
I've been looking for this clip. It makes clear that responsibility for this tragedy falls squarely on the shoulders of George W. Bush. Congrats, Bush, you just ruined Louisiana's coastal ecosystem. Prick.

5. Which begs the question: When will the world cease to suffer from the actions of George W. Bush?
