More than 1,000 people have purchased tickets to attend a speech by former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin in Independence Township on Saturday.
“We can seat up to 2,000 people. We encourage people, if you want to attend, to purchase tickets online but we will be selling tickets at the door,” said Jake Davison, communications director for Michigan chapter of the Americans for Prosperity Foundation.
Palin will be the keynote speaker for the foundation’s Defending the American Dream Summit.
Check-in starts at 7 a.m. for the event, which is being held at Mount Zion, 4900 Maybee Road. Palin is expected to take the stage shortly after the summit begins at 9 a.m.
