Nasty Gram Circulating on Wall Street About Us Regular Folks
“We are Wall Street. It’s our job to make money. Whether it’s a commodity, stock, bond, or some hypothetical piece of fake paper, it doesn’t matter. We would trade baseball cards if it were profitable. I didn’t hear America complaining when the market was roaring to 14,000 and everyone’s 401k doubled every 3 years. Just like gambling, its not a problem until you lose. I’ve never heard of anyone going to Gamblers Anonymous because they won too much in Vegas.

Well now the market crapped out, & even though it has come back somewhat, the government and the average Joes are still looking for a scapegoat. God knows there has to be one for everything. Well, here we are.

Go ahead and continue to take us down, but you’re only going to hurt yourselves. What’s going to happen when we can’t find jobs on the Street anymore? Guess what: We’re going to take yours. We get up at 5am & work till 10pm or later. We’re used to not getting up to pee when we have a position. We don’t take an hour or more for a lunch break. We don’t demand a union. We don’t retire at 50 with a pension. We eat what we kill, and when the only thing left to eat is on your dinner plates, we’ll eat that.

For years teachers and other unionized labor have had us fooled. We were too busy working to notice. Do you really think that we are incapable of teaching 3rd graders and doing landscaping? We’re going to take your cushy jobs with tenure and 4 months off a year and whine just like you that we are so-o-o-o underpaid for building the youth of America. Say goodbye to your overtime and double time and a half. I’ll be hitting grounders to the high school baseball team for $5k extra a summer, thank you very much.

So now that we’re going to be making $85k a year without upside, Joe Mainstreet is going to have his revenge, right? Wrong! Guess what: we’re going to stop buying the new 80k car, we aren’t going to leave the 35 percent tip at our business dinners anymore. No more free rides on our backs. We’re going to landscape our own back yards, wash our cars with a garden hose in our driveways. Our money was your money. You spent it. When our money dries up, so does yours.

The difference is, you lived off of it, we rejoiced in it. The Obama administration and the Democratic National Committee might get their way and knock us off the top of the pyramid, but it’s really going to hurt like hell for them when our fat a**es land directly on the middle class of America and knock them to the bottom.

We aren’t dinosaurs. We are smarter and more vicious than that, and we are going to survive. The question is, now that Obama & his administration are making Joe Mainstreet our food supply…will he? and will they?”

1. Really, myt heart bleeds.
35% tip. yea, I'm sure waitresses everywhere will back that up. And retiring without a pension? Really, that's sad when you have a few million in the bank.

I just don't have a tear to spare for these guys.

"We don’t demand a union."

I could be mistaken but aren't they in a union?

Not to mention that they think they are some hard driven fighter with killer instincts. "We eat what we kill" and we will take your dinner if we have too. They don't see laws rules or regulations at all. They believe they have an inherent right to do as they wish and will get a hard kick in the ass if they had to face society.

About the whole going Galt bullshit; hey dumb-asses, when you quit wall street someone else will take YOUR positions and the country will march on. You are not expendable either. Go ahead and take my shitty job, I'll just take yours.

11. Wow, what an ego
Apparently, all the wealth in the world was created by him and his caste of money-priests. Us proles at the bottom are merely whiners who complain too much. No mention of how WE CREATE wealth with our labor. They only get to play around with the profits.

And what's this about them not being in a Union? Unions are for the protection of workers from exploitation. Is he saying that HE is being exploited? These are the most pampered, overpaid and praised employees ever in the history of work. Sure, they work long hours. So does a single mom struggling to keep two (or more) jobs just to keep from losing a place to live.

And bad form bashing teachers. They sure educated YOU enough so that you could get your cushy job. Teachers are among the lowest paid jobs that require a college degree. And that "four months off"? They're not paid for. Teachers sometimes have to get extra summertime jobs to put food on the table.

What an ass.

Those two months were pretty lean sometimes. And I know about the workload - all those unpaid hours for marking, lesson planning, professional development and administration - not to mention extracurricular programs and after school events.

She probably put in as many hours as this bozo.

15. The biggest problem with these characters...
is that despite their delusions of creating wealth...they only shuffle wealth around. Much of what they shuffle ends up in their own pockets.

They do not create wealth. Wealth is created by people who take raw materials and make something from it that is sold making a profit. That is new wealth.

What we are enduring at the moment, is a remake of The Gilded Age. Unions began during this abysmal period of our history. For a reason.

14. Now that I have picked myself up from off the floor...
...where I was laughing uncontrollably, I have to say, this is not only the biggest pile of self-serving claptrap I have seen in a long, long time, it is also laughably untrue.

These guys think they can handle a classroom of third- or seventh-graders, think again schmuck. They think they'll still get up at 5am, skip lunch, work the 80+ hour week, etc., when they are getting $50,000 a year instead of the $1,000,000+ they are earning right now? And, they're going to do their own yard work etc.???

Ha ha ha, puhleeze. I want, I really want to see these guys "take our jobs". Why? Because 9 out of 10 of these pikers won't last a month at the jobs, and they certainly won't be putting in 80-hour weeks, and they will find that no one is impressed with them as human beings, especially now that they are not gazillionaires, and you know what? TO HELL WITH THEM!

Grrrrr.....

28. And don't forget, on a teacher's salary, you pick up your own
kids after school (and they go to public school because there's no way you can afford some swanky private place). You wash your own windows and vacuum your own floors. You shop at discount stores, and forget about vacations in the Bahamas. You go visit your mom in Idaho for a week and that's it.

A good teacher grades papers on weekends and after school -- and takes courses in the summer just to keep up with ever-changing requirements.

These Wall Streeters need to live on Main Street for a while. They would look at the pension fund money they handle very differently. Maybe there should be a law . . . .

18. No doubt written by a guy whose parents still support him.
Sounds exactly like what one would hear from some college student who has never had a real job, WANTS to be a Wall Street broker, and THINKS it is the province of really fast trackers.

Guys like that always wrongly think they're essential to the process of making deals in America. They're not. They're ants, and if one goes down, they won't even be missed.

As to the key question the author poses, the answer to him is "yes, you are too lazy, too uninformed and too arrogant to clean up after yourself, do any real labor, or get your fingernails dirty."

24. Could Lloyd Blankfein teach second grade?
I seriously doubt it. The kids would probably fill his desk drawers with chewed bubble gum on the first day. People who are full of themselves and think they are better than everybody else do not do well in the classroom. The kids see through them immediately and cut them right down to size.

And Blankfein would not have the patience to teach kindergarten.

There isn't a lot of demand for economics teachers or business teachers in K-12. It's mostly about teaching basics like reading and basic math. The challenge is the teaching, the communication.

The kind of communication that goes on on Wall Street would fail miserably in 8th grade algebra. These Wall Street guys would have to slow down. I don't think they could take it.

53. When the DOW was at 14,000, it was all a lie!
Edited on Sun May-02-10 12:20 AM by CoffeeCat
What this very narcissistic blowhole is forgetting--is that Wall Street has
been crafting a disaster for America--for a long time now.

Yes, the DOW was at 14,000--and we were rejoicing. However, we had no idea that it
was a house of cards--built by Wall Streeters, who didn't give a rip about what would
happen to the U.S. economy or its people.

So spare me your "We're all connected" bullshit. You dropped us first. You lied
to us and propped up the stock market on smoke and mirrors that YOU KNEW ABOUT. You
knew it was all a lie and that the economy would implode. We didn't.

That is OUR money that you are playing with--during those long, long hours that you
work, with few potty breaks and quick lunch breaks. We trusted you. You destroyed
that trust.

We're just not interested in your whining. Or your threats. That old, "If
we go down, you go down!" nonsense--is just that--nonsense. Many have all ready
disengaged from needing you or your financial shell games. We're living our lives
without money in the stock market and we're crafting other ways to make money.

Sooner or later, the truth surfaces. Dollars are votes, and we've voted not to
support classless chicanery and doing business with a bunch of myopic weasels.
