US liberals claim right-wingers have cooked up salacious material for 'The Kennedys'

By Guy Adams in Los Angeles

Sunday, 2 May 2010

She isn't the first person to be accused of helping to assassinate JFK, but she may be the most glamorous: Katie Holmes, the actress better known as Mrs Tom Cruise, is at the centre of what Hollywood liberals are theatrically billing a sinister right-wing plot to destroy the late president's reputation.

Ms Holmes was unveiled last week as the star of The Kennedys, an eight-hour History Channel mini-series, in which she will play JFK's wife, Jackie. Greg Kinnear, an Oscar nominee, will portray the president, while the British actor Tom Wilkinson will take the role of his father, Joseph. The A-list cast has, however, been announced to a chorus of scepticism about the purpose of the high-profile show, which is scheduled to air on the US cable channel in the run-up to January's 50th anniversary of the charismatic Democratic president's inauguration.

1. Rush Limbaugh's '24' Viagra-chomping chum to the Dominican Republic is the PRODUCER.
So, the odds are the new series won't be a very accurate work.
Of course, ABCNNBCBSFauxNoiseNutwork won't bring up that side of the story.
And that's an important part of misinformation.

2. I can't imagine what they would need to add, frankly.
But if the whole series is just about his women-chasing, then what is the point?

I take it Katie Holmes is playing Jackie? Hmm. Tom Wilkinson is a great actor and should do well.

4. Historians say
that that seemed to bee the major theme of the series. It does seem like a great cast. I enjoy Katie Holmes acting.

3. I saw a show on the Mormons recently that was good
Independent productions are the usual way to get an intelligent movie out.
