Poll question: Who Will Ultimately Pay For The Oil Cleanup?
This cleanup costs will be staggering: likely tens of billions of dollars, perhaps hundreds of billions, as well as obliterating a large percentage of the nation's seafood industry?

When all is said and done, who do you believe the Obama Administration and Congress will hold on the hook for the cleanup costs?

2. It will be everyone who purchases petroleum products from BP...
Companies almost NEVER pay for things like this, O, it LOOKS like they do....But all they do is increase to cost of their products to compensate...

So, it will be the folks that purchase gas and such from BP, and their subsidiaries.

3. I voted other ...
because it is too early to decide.

What I mean is, if the high-end estimates I am hearing prove correct, or the rate of flow increases dramatically then cleaning this up may be beyond our means to do so. The depth and pressure, from what I understand, may be unprecedented and so, the ability to stop or divert the flow is still up in the air.

The idea of cleaning this up may be moot at this point.

4. The middle class will pay
We pay for everything. BP screws things up, we pay. Even if they pay the initial cost, the price of their gas will certainly skyrocket and the other oil companies will likely fall in line with them.

19. No, it is a bridge kit in Minnesota.
It needs some new parts, but otherwise is still good.

6. The soil, dead animals, taxpayers and
the people who died will soak up all the oil. After all when "mistakes are made" by large wealthy corporations, everyone powerful, along with politicians who they fund, just stroke each other and think of ways to avoid saying anything could have been avoided.

10. The cost will eventually be passed off on the middle glass,
through higher gasoline prices and increased costs to bring groceries and other consumer goods to market.
