since Bush I / Quayle started repealing safety regulations on industry. The LOVE the idea of business regulation iteslf - which means no regulation at all. and of the "market" regulating bad business prectices. Well, BP made some bad decisions here to save money, and evidently one of them was to buy the cheapest type of booms for their emergency oil spill clean up program - the booms they supplied are poorly made and coming apart. People who should be deploying those booms have to spend time repairing them.
If this year does not serve at least to point out the tragic failure of the GOP's "thinking" for the last 40 years, I have no idea what will do it. If Democrats do not have the initiative to call the GOP on these issues NOW, they are hopeless.

We MUST vote as many republicans out of office as we possibly can.
