Okay, I am not a scientist,

and I will admit that I am not certain this plan will work, but we should try cramming Rush Limbaugh into the hole from which the oil is gushing. If my plan works, the flow of oil into the Gulf of Mexico will be stopped, and we will rid ourselves of Rush Limbaugh. If my plan fails, we will rid ourselves of Rush Limbaugh, and Larry Summers appears to have an ample girth (we could even shove Alan Greenspan up his butt to provide more structural stability). If the hole from which the oil is flowing is even larger than the loopholes in financial regulatory reform legislation, we could bundle together some executives of Big Oil companies to form a collateralized plug obligation. These options are worth trying before we use a nuclear bomb.

edit: I'm a scientist and I approve of your idea. Even if it doesn't stop the oil flow, it is certainly a project that is worth the effort.
