4. YOu know I hit the wrong button.
WHat the hell is your excuse??

A person here had a sibling die over there recently -

That was what I responded (or tried to) respond to.

But you wouldn't know anything about that - would ya??

6. Had I understood the background for your thread, I certainly wouldn't
have posted as I did. As a matter of fact, I too was saddened by that death, and posted my condolences, feeble as such condolences always seem to be in cases like this. This loss struck a particularly bitter note with me because, as it happens, he was serving in the 1st Bn, 5th Cavalry, 1st Cav Division, and this is the sister unit to the one I had served in 40 years ago in Vietnam. I had been in the 2d Bn, 5th Cav, and was thinking about how many useless wars the 5th Cavalry had been sent into. I believe, for example, that it was the 5th Cavalry that went in to clean up after the Custer fiasco at the Little Big Horn.

I'm sorry to have posted so thoughtlessly in response to your mistake.

2. I didn't know that I didn't know . . .
. . . and now I feel too ignorant to regret not feeling sorry.
