Jenna Bush: Laura is a "Secret Rastafarian"
Edited on Mon May-03-10 07:14 PM by dancingme
(PEOPLE.com) -- What does former First Lady Laura Bush have on her iPod? The answer may surprise you.

"My mom's a secret Rastafarian," her daughter Jenna said in an interview scheduled to air on the "Oprah Winfrey Show" Tuesday, "so Bob Marley" around the house.

Appearing on the show with her sister Barbara and mom Laura, who was promoting her new memoir "Spoken from the Heart," Jenna explained what a typical night at the Bush family ranch in Crawford, Texas, is like.

11. One Of The Many Rumors...
http://themediadude.blogspot.com/2006/09/secret-life-of-laura-bush.html

I also found this quote from The Sunday Herald (I never heard of it) from 9/2004 that looks at the president's past. The article relies heavily on the Bush biography The Family: The Real Story of the Bush Dynasty by Kitty Kelly, which is very critical to begin with. Written at the height of anti-Bush/pro-John Kerry election propaganda, it should be taken with a heaping tablespoon of salt. The author seems to have turned rumor into truth, something the Republicans have perfected (The insurgency is in its death throws).

There are even claims that First Lady Laura Bush was a drug dealer in her youth...Kelly says she was the “go-to-girl for dime bags” of grass at the Southern Methodist University. “She not only smoked dope but she sold dope.”

As they say..."it's always the quiet ones"...

16. The evidence is pretty flimsy that she did
However, if it is true it wouldn't surprise me. Bush himself most certainly used drugs at the time. Now just because she married someone who uses drugs, doesn't mean she necessarily used them herself, but I find it less likely that someone who had never used drugs would marry someone who obviously did.

17. Nothing Surprises Me...
and honestly its of no matter to me. You'd think Ms. Welch was in her early 20s in the late 60s and, unless she lived in a monastary or was a librarian 24/7...she surely had to had been exposed to the "party scene". Following your line of thinking...considering that junior was such a "playboy" at the time you'd think he'd never have the opportunity to cross paths with a "school marm". I don't think I've heard either of 'em say how they first met.

18. Supposedly they met at a family BBQ
...and were set up by mutual friends. Seems a bit too manufactured to me. If they had met at a drunken orgy, I doubt they would have told anyone and would have made up some other excuse. How many alcoholics do you know that pick up women at family BBQs?

A freak dust storm just occurred in Jamaica. The storm was believed to be caused by Bob Marley rapidly turning over in his grave.
