1.Does BP have deep water drilling operations in other parts of the world?

2.If so, how are those operations regulated?

3. If our regulations are less stringent than other countries', why?

1. I don't know for sure if BP has deep water drilling ops elsewhere,

but I do know that deep water drillinhg ops in other places of the world are required to install a special automatic switch to stop blowouts from happening. The reason I heard that the US doesn't require these to be installed is in the secret meeting Cheney had, he agreed that it waasn't necessary because it would cost too much. Each auto switch costs around $500,000.

4. I did hear that the north sea & around Brazil mandate

the accoustic switch which is the name (I finally remembered the name o;)) which is the emergency shut off to prevent accidents like we have in the Gulf from happening.
