1. Subsidized by employer..done pre-tax... about $38/mo. Atlanta
and I take it five days a week. Although Marta has multiple issues, it sure beats driving and parking!

4. I also live in metro Atlanta and cannot take Marta
I live in a wheelchair and the scarcity of lift buses, both in my county transit and on marta buses is a problem. My option has been to use my lift van to create a vanpool of others with mobility problems. All of us would gladly use public transit if it was more user friendly.

There are quite a few who travel with me that can walk with difficulty. As the country ages due to the boomers and as people work later and later into their lives due to the destruction of income security for retirees, there is going to be more and more of a need for public transport that does not require long walks and long waits out in the weather.

3. You forgot one option....
"No Public Transit Available", which would apply to HUGE portions of this country.

6. $45 for San Francisco MUNI
I'm lucky that I live and work in the City, though. Most people in the Bay Area rely on BART and CalTrain, which can cost hundreds a month depending on where you live.
