My husband just had Wes Clark ask him for directions in Santa Cruz, CA
Hubby was picking up a drum set across from a media production company - Wes Clark and a couple of guys walked up to him and asked him where 'Digital Media (?)' was, hubby told him. He didn't snap that it was Wes Clark until he had already walked a few feet off. The guy he was buying the drum set said (with awe) "do you know who that was?"

Hubby called me about the encounter - I'm all jealous now!

The REALLY cool thing... Wes Clark is a man that asks for directions!!!

(WES was my man in 2004)

But I want the president to know where he is and how to get where he's going and to have a GPS.

I've always respected Wes. The people gave the directions to the decider in the last election
he choose to ignore them and is driving this country, lost and running out of gas on the highway to hell.

Digital Media Factory
2809 Mission Street
Santa Cruz, CA 95060

http://www.digitalmediafactory.net/index.php

There are a number of stories like this of people running into Wes out and about. One I remember was in a mall when he was buying a suitcase. Lots of them from airports, bookstores, park benches.

I keep saying he needs a damned minion just for appearances

I notice Digital Media is partnered with UCLA where Wes is a fellow now. It could have something to do with it.

He has this coming up soon.

“The Art of Strategic Leadership”

Leadership Seminar at the University of California – Los Angeles

General Clark will be speaking to the American Council of Young Political Leaders at a Leadership Seminar (University of California – Los Angeles) in conjunction with the UCLA's School of Public Affiars exclusively for ACYPL alumni and supporters. This program has been custom designed to meet the leadership challenges that confront key decision-makers on a daily basis.

The program will include classroom lectures and highly participatory case studies and exercises led by UCLA faculty and distinguished outside speakers. Registration includes all program materials, reception and dinner on Thursday and Friday evenings, breakfast and lunch on Friday and Saturday, and all program-related transportation.

Please see the seminar website (“The Art of Strategic Leadership” for registration, accommodations, and http://www.acypl.org/docs/reg_form.pdf for further details about the schedule.

Programming the Nation

JEFF WARRICK, Executive Producer, Director
MARTY COLLINS, Producer, Director of Photography

A feature-length documentary about the history of subliminal programming and its alleged uses in modern media. Using a chronological structure, the film covers the first documented case of subliminal technology used in a movie theater during the late 1950's, to its reported examples in popular music, film, advertising, audio & visual self help tapes, and political propaganda.

The project is intended primarily for educational purposes and will be an unbiased, yet thorough exploration on the history of this purported phenomenon. Many facets and differing opinions will be covered through interviews with experts in the field of advertising, psychology, mass media, and scientific research. The film also examines point of views from filmmakers, musicians, politicians, broadcast agencies and other experts.

Initial distribution will focus on educational institutions with course curriculum in communications, journalism, mass media, sociology, political science, graphic design, art history, music, film and television. Subsequent distribution will target film festivals both here and abroad, and eventually to wide, domestic and international theatrical release, television, video and other ancillary markets.

51. Wes Clark at the mall....
I saw both Gen. and Mrs. Clark at the mall around Christmas time a couple of years ago...or rather, he saw me and they came over to say hello. They could have kept walking because I didn't see them til they said hi. How nice is that?? Guess it pays to be a local Clarkie, heh! Needless to say, I was flabbergasted!

58. I remember the "park bench" story.....
He was getting ready to give a speech in Washington DC, and someone saw him sitting on a park bench by himself, writing the speech or putting the finishing touches on it.

I believe that was the same day that Eric Massa, who was running for Congress, told some Clarkies that when General Clark came to give the speech, he arrived with a strange befuddled look on his face. He told Eric that a woman had come up to him on the street and told him that she loved him. LOL

I think the General was being forced to come to grips with a new kind of celebrity. :) (This was after the 2004 election)

29. My husband says he saw Bruce Springsteen filling up his pickup at Raceway
This is in Red Bank, NJ, a few miles from where he lives so it might well be true. Bruce sitings are common and most people make an effort to give him some privacy. Somehow the thought that Bruce would buy discount gas--or wouldn't have his car flunky take the thing out and buy it for him sounded strange but maybe he's just a frugal sort of guy.
