Wow. My co-worker's son is on the hit list for a local Aryan Nation group
His son is a police officer. Pulled over this "gentleman" going over 100 on his motorcycle. He registered a .2 on the Breathalyzer, and his son took him in. Turns out this is his third DWI arrest.

Turns out this gentleman is the president of the local chapter of the Aryan nation. My co-worker's son pulled him over on I35 near Kyle, Texas. This person was threatening him as he was taken in. The son, who is fairly new to the area, just was taking it in stride, but his fellow officers were pretty shaken up for him, and said this was very serious. The judge has even refused a bail offer, and the Aryan nation president is still being held.

He called his dad on Sunday to tell him about the threat. My co-worker's son has a roommate, and they live in the country. They have invested in extra shells for his roommate's gun as well.

I know police officers are not very popular here at DU, but as you can see, they have to put up with some pretty serious stuff. I am really keeping my co-worker and his son in my thoughts...

1. Near Kyle?! Really?!
I would have never thought Kyle would head down that road. Old, established German community....I'll keep the kid in my thoughts.

8. Yep, old German community
I tend to think of those groups more in East Texas, but I guess I can see a few of those knuckledraggers hanging around there.

6. His boss and co-workers are taking this very seriously
He was pretty shaken when he called his dad last night. He refused to talk to his mom because he didn't want her to worry. My co-worker has been taking it pretty well, but he is definitely shaken.

3. For the record, my problem is ONLY with BAD cops and people who apologize for them
I hope that your co-worker's son (who's just doing his job, from what I can tell) comes out of this safe and sound.

4. I don't think people on DU have a problem with cops. Only cops who abuse authority.

30. I would disagree
Edited on Tue May-11-10 08:26 AM by Rebubula
MANY people have issues with all cops and all authority.

However, I would agree that we all hate cops that abuse authority.

ON EDIT - see Post 16.

7. There are really good cops and unfortunately bad cops. Generally the way
the media operates the bad cops get all the media attention and the good cops often get no national praise. I've met some really good cops in my lifetime along with a few bad ones. I try to remember the good ones.

13. Threaten a cop? Bad, bad idea.
A brotherhood that's trained to the nth degree to shoot people. Not my first choice to actually attempt to carry anything out on.

Thought this wouldn't be terrorism, but vengeance, the Aryan Nation are terrorists and I am very happy they are taking this so seriously. They are VERY, VERY dangerous!

16. I generally don't like cops and the role they play in this society, but,

in this case if any of those Aryan nation creeps show up at their home the cop and his roommate have the right to defend themselves.

They just need to be on high alert and ready to take whatever action is necessary.

19. This perp is no "gentleman." He's a vicious thug, and jail and prison are where
he belongs for threatening a peace officer. I hope the prosecutor and others find other charges to stick on him. Maybe some conspiracy shit. Something. This asshole eeds to be off the streets.

29. Well, after the Seattle beating
There were really negative posts, and deservedly so when it came to those officers. A couple of posters stated they hated "pigs" and basically told the "apologists" for the police (even the ones who say there are both good and bad police) where they could go. It got pretty ugly.

This OP is so full of shit I don't know where to begin. What are you trying to do here, Ishoutandscream2? Sounds oooh so very serious. Link? Surely the local news must have had a field day with this fantastical story.

I'll post the "linky" and you can have a good laugh over this. Shame that you are from Texas. I have to defend my fellow Texans here on DU all the time. You have just given them ammunition that Texans are real douchbags.

28. Thank you for your nice post
I have been here for a number of years. First, as Ishoutandscream, and then as Ishoutandscream2. I believe I started here in 2002. I can't believe someone here on this board is questioning the truth of this. It is beyond comprehension.

Thanks again for your nice thoughts.

31. Problem with cops?
Many of us here have been civil servants in some capacity (former volunteer firefighter / first responder here). There are many good people out there doing dangerous jobs that deserve respect.
