I'm pissed. Our folks have passed some great legislation since they've had the majority
But not a single one of them will become law because they won't pass a veto
and we can't get enough votes to overide

So far it's great PR and that's all

Just IMPEACH the fuckers

That should be priority #1

2. He can't let the country know that the democrats are really do what a congress should.
They have got to impeach. And what they have to do is hold the republicans up to scrunity to show they are still supporting crooks and corruption of the bush administration. I think they should start their own PR campaign against McConnell, Blunt and Boehner. Thy should call them obstructionist.

3. If they can't over ride a veto, they surely will not succed with impeachment
The successful vetoing of legislation is not grounds for using impeachment as a hissy fit.

6. Solo - And that is the bottom line - -
Wish some people on DU would get this through their heads- If you can't override a veto, you sure as hell will never get the necessary Senate votes to carry through with an impeachment.

5. So when we have a Democratic president who vetoes a lot of Republican laws, s/he should be impeached
too, right? What's fair is fair.

As someone else said in another thread: Lots of reasons to impeach. This ain't one of 'em. He's within his Constitutional rights and responsibilities to veto whatever the hell he wants, for whatever reasons.

7. FDR had 635 vetoes. Harry Truman had 250.

Bush has 2. One of them was on a bill passed by a Republican Congress (federal subsidies for stem cell research).

What the hell are you talking about?
