ReThug Mayor Believes New York Should Have Majority of SCOTUS
http://www.examiner.com/x-1527-NY-Government-Examiner~y2010m5d10-Bloomberg-gives-Supreme-Court-nominee-2-thumbs-up-as-he-looks-to-the-future

"The only thing that I find disappointing is that the pressure is now on me to talk to the president and make sure that the his next appointee is someone from Staten Island," said Bloomberg, who noted that if Kagan is confirmed four of the five boroughs can claim credit for a Supreme Court Justice.

* Associate Justice Sonia Sotomayor hails from the Bronx;
* Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg hails from Brooklyn;
* Associate Justice Antonin Scalia went to high school in Queens.

"I think that given there are nine members on the Supreme Court, New York City Should have a majority," said the mayor. "I would think that the president is getting ready for next time and Staten Island should be at the top of the list."

=====================================================================================================================

Hey, Mike, there's more to the country than New York City, you Rethug barfbag. It's bad enough you overturned twice-voted term limits that the people of the city voted on so you could steal buy yourself a third term. Now you want to pack the court with New Yorkers? How about you considering the fact that your city, while it has 8 million people is not the majoirty of the country -- not even close. How did you ever become a billionaire with such poor math skills?

(Yeah, I know he's technically an independent, but I ain't buying it. He's still a Rethug at heart.)

5. Typical NYC-centric attitude that is very common in that city
Especially in Manhattan. They believe their little sphere is the center of the universe.

6. Hey, Don't Lump Us All In There...
I live in NYC and (obviously) don't see the city as the be-all and end-all of the country. I love the city, but what the mayor is trying to do is just so far beyond the pale.

8. Believe me...
I wish he were joking. But knowing Bloomberg, he's the type that if he actually had the power to do it, he'd handpick his own nine New Yorkers for the court and ignore the rest of the country.

9. It was a joke.
No Bloomberg fan here - he offers lots of occasion for legitimate complaint. This just isn't one of them.
