Chis Hayes did a good job subbing for Rachel last night.
And he was given a tremendous assist with the "Fuzzy Defense" music about the "I didn't do it" trifecta of corporate criminals BP, Transocean & Halliburton. and the 50's style documentary about pluggging the oil leak. I think she's got one hell of a production team.

2. The first time he subbed for Rachel he had a rough time.
Last night he seemed much more relaxed. I thought he was terrific.

Wasn't that the 'shaggy' defense though?'

4. Took the words from my mouth (fingertips?)
Taking nothing away from Hayes, but for a substitute host to come in and take the reigns so smoothly speaks even more to her producers' skills. Of course, I am sure Rachel inspires those who work with her to do their absolute best...

7. Make that "reins" as in guiding a horse.
Kings and queens "reign" over their kingdoms.

8. Yes... I'm not at my best grammatically, verbally, or
in other ways, I am sure-- that early in the morning. You are right, however.

He missed a few words and syllables, maybe 3 times in the show. No biggie.

I was disappointed that he did not know the Billy Idol Generation X reference. Everybody knows that!

He mentioned Noam Chomsky. Talk about a left leaning dog whistle! The mere mention of that name is in itself an act of defiance of the MSM.

And his performance does reflect the caliber of production on that show. They have a good crew.

The cute lil guy did good!

9. In a way, I thought he used the
mannerisms and delivery of Rachel herself.

11. I thought he was okay, but...
Not knowing much about him, I also thought that some of his mannerisms we're too similar to Rachel's - like he was trying too hard to mimic Rachel's delivery, rather than being himself.

13. He hasn't really had a lot of experience on the air...
Most of it has been on Rachel's show. It seems natural that he'd try to follow her excellent lead.

but this is the first time I've caught him as host. I was impressed.
