Activists from the ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism) Coalition hold a rally to demand the seizure of BP's assets to provide comprehensive compensation for all people affected by the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, in Washington May 12, 2010.

The group gathered to protest BP's role in the Gulf of Mexico oil spill caused by an explosion on, and subsequent sinking of the Deepwater Horizon Oil platform whose wellhead is still leaking oil at an estimated rate of 1,000-5,000 barrels a day.

2. In any sane society
If an entity poisoned a large area of a productive fishing region, made the shipping lanes inoperable for commerce, and washed a toxic substance onto the shores of private property of the citizens of a region that pay taxes on said private property, the assets of said entity would be seized, the leaders marched through the streets to have rotten cabbage thrown at them by the citizenry followed by due process and punishment.

In America, our elected leaders look for ways to save their asses for campaign contributions and future jobs.

Maybe they both need to be marched through the public square and the cabbage throwing may commence followed by due process.
