Iraq War is institutionalized at this point... it's the REAL stimulus package
(I am not advocating the war, just pointing out an oft-overlooked angle...)

When you think about it, the amount of jobs that have been created in order to support the war(s) -- imagine if all that ended? Would the economy be able to absorb the hit? I'm not talking about military personnel as much as I am contractors, industrial manufacturing, supply chain, etc.

I feel for Obama on this... It's a bitch of a situation to be in. The war(s) are almost institutionalized at this point.

1. It's a bitch for Obama?!? What about the innocent Iraqi people who have been slaughtered?

My Gawd! Just when I thought our nation could not become more selfish?

We're there immorally and illegally, but HOT DAMN, the MIC is making money hand over fist and hiring a shitload of people ... off of OUR TAXPAYERS' DOLLARS.

2. if all that effort & energy
..imagination & logical thinking,
materials, time, money, LIVES..
were directed at Healing, recovery, rebuilding, renewal,
If ALL that energy were focused on LIFE & Creation,
instead of death,destruction,
imagine that!
I'm thinkin' it would *help* the employment & economics,
in a BIG Way.

6. Silly. That spending is highly sequestered. A real stimulus would take
those resources and invest them into our energy grid, renewables, our crumbling roads, our busting sewers, our rusting plumbing, and our children to build our country rather than spending a trillion dollars to secure probably 10 billion dollars in oil revenue for private gain.

If they refuse to draw this down and cease wasting our national resources for the gains of few at the expense of the many (many of which aren't even born yet) then a pox on them.
