Yo, AZ idiot on Tweety
Edited on Thu May-13-10 06:47 PM by WolverineDG
Learn your history, moron. In particular, the areas claimed by Spain prior to Mexico winning its independence, & later the territory ceded by Mexico to the US after the US-Mexico War

:eyes:

and as for your outrage over "Occupied America," asshats like you have been yukking it up for years that people like me were born in "Occupied Mexico." har-de har-de har har. Not so funny, is it?

4. Who was he?
Is it someone like Russell Pearce, Tom Horne, or one of those freaks who pushed SB1070?

7. He didn't say that was the true history. He said this is what the textbooks they are using say.
Which goes back to the Accuracy of the textbooks and the classes

8. He said that was what they are teaching as if it was true
and it was clear that he didn't believe it & was offended by the fact that Mexico owned/claimed most of the Western US until the US-Mexico War forced them to give up those lands. He made more issue out of "La Raza" classes than he did African-American or Asian studies, as well.

11. Yet can't you admit that ethnic studies could possibly be taught in a radical manner?
Isn't it the difference between a madrassas and a religion class? One is malignant and one is benign. It could be called the same thing ie study of Islam but the goals and outcomes are different.

12. They already teach "ethnic studies" in AZ schools
they're called "American History" & "World History." All taught from a predominantly white point of view.

13. And a madrassas teaches from an Islamic point of view.
The point is whether radicalization is promoted or not. At least that is what concerns me.

14. So basically you're afraid of teaching Hispanic kids their history
because it will make them angry at how their people have been treated? Because that's what nice white folks mean when they say they are "concerned" that teaching ethnic studies will "promote radicalization."

9. Twisting History...
This fukwad seems to never have seen a history book and a map of the Southwest prior to around 1849...it WAS a part of Mexico...all the way into Wyoming. This isn't "propaganda", this is history. Many Hispanics feel that land was stolen from them and there's a strong case that says so, but that's not what this douchenozzle was going at here. He was spewing rumors from the white supremists...the Lou Doobies militia types...spreading hatred about Mexico and Mexicans with all sorts of lies and distortions. Here's proof that if you say a lie enough, not only can you believe it but also legislate it. Goebbels would be proud.

10. Texas had to give up its claims to NM, CO, WY as well
really old maps of "Tejas" show the territory extending up to the Canadian border. Originally, the southern border of Texas was the Nueces River, but the US claimed it was the Rio Grande, which it never was until the US-Mexico War ended. Thus the asshats' joking about those born south of the Nueces being born in "Occupied Mexico."
