I doubt I will vote for pro-drug-warriors anymore
especially drug using (or former drug users that never had to do time) pro-drug-warriors. If we live in a free democracy, I will vote as I please.

1. +1
I didn't really expect that Obama would be such a hardliner. I'm definitely disappointed. He's as hypocritical about drug use as George Bush was.

3. I don't think it's fair to call him a hardliner.
I'm as anti-drug-war as anyone, but there's about a hundred more viable and more urgent issues staring him in the face than leading a national charge to legalize drugs. Yes, it should be done, but he can't do everything, and if we want to continue to have a Democratic Party he can't be using his time for that when people are losing their jobs and their homes.

5. I would have more respect for him
if he hadn't said anything at all about the drug war rather than giving his stamp of approval to it.

8. Saying nothing would be interpreted as tacit support of legalization.
Which would be a distraction and a loss of political capital. In practice, their current policy really has no effect of substance on Cali or any other state doing whatever they like. Not commenting gains nothing and loses focus.

10. Would you admit that Obama's drug czar is no better then Bush's?
I think that is a very honest statement, imho..

11. I haven't compared them closely.
I do think that we're not really going to make any significant changes to national drug policy on the national level, at least not for the moment. That makes the drug czar more or less irrelevant.

4. If Pot Wins Here in California, Obama will change his mind in time for 2012
So far every time that Medical Marijuana has been on a ballot, it's won landslides. :smoke:

With record voter turn outs as well. :smoke:

People come out of the woods and the woodwork to register to vote that haven't voted in decades.

Nevada tried to completely "legalize it" and failed.

This vote in November will decide which way the wind blows.

There are a lot of growers who are freaked out about price drops, :scared:

so we can't count on the grower

vote like with medical. :dilemma:

I have my fingers crossed
MJ

7. Growing is easy.
"There are a lot of growers who are freaked out about price drops, so we can't count on the grower "

Everyone should do it themselves.
.

Thanks MJ!!!!

13. Most growers have amazing skills knowledge and abilities.
Their weed is "the Kind."
They say there are as many ways to grow as there are people who want to grow it,
but these guys are into growing "Olympic Athletes" of weed.

I want them to retain their positions and weather it out the way

the American wineries waited out and prevailed after prohibition in the 30s.

I would love to have a tax too.
I would love for the marijuana community to show our economic power and contribute to our society.
Everyone should be able to grow their own, but we should still purchase some kind of growing permit, something to help the California economy.

9. Same here - we are making war on our own people
Edited on Thu May-13-10 08:13 PM by slay
cause of these drug war fuckers. I'm not voting for Dems or R's that support the drug war anymore. I'm done. I'm making my stand here. And not just drug wars - no more Afghanistan or Iraq either! If I have to vote 3rd party forever, I will. :grr:
