Obama gushes anger at oil execs
I have always believed that all headlines in most national news sources are controlled at a central location, approved and then sent out. That location is some Republican/right wing think tank. While the stories themselves are not completely controlled, the headlines are. All of them.. Look at this list, Palin is mentioned twice, in a positive light. I see headlines about Palin almost always positive..Don't you?
Or on Obama's anger at the oil companies... Is the word "gushes" a positive word about anger at oil companies?.. Kinda a play on words. Like this is some kind of game to be angry at the oil companies..or someone's idea of a joke.
So many times, I have noticed, that the headlines favor the GOP (even the use of GOP sounds better than the Republicans}. The tone of most headlines favor the right wing, and their friends.
If one looks at the headlines almost any time, one would see that the headlines have a slant against our point of view. For example, the word "helps" is positive. and Palin and Sanford "help the underdog" ..people are for the underdog. These type of examples can be found over and over again. Everywhere there is a list of headlines in major media outlets, I see this repeated. Is it really too far out to think that these short sentences are controlled centrally by the right wing? Perhaps people disagree. But we need a discussion on this since so many people just read the headlines and not the entire story.
Oh, one more idea. This slanting is somewhat subtle. One has to look for it. We look over headlines so quickly, that we may not realize that they are slanted in favor of the conservative/ right wing view point. Exactly how it is meant to be. So you don't notice the slant.
