WaPo: Palin shows her "trademark reflexive know-nothingness" in support of legal lunacy in Arizona

Showing her trademark reflexive know-nothingness, Sarah Palin declared yesterday, "It's time for Americans across this great country to stand up and say, 'We're all Arizonans now!'"

That would be true if "we" favored a law so flawed that not even the Arizona Association of Police Chiefs supports it.

Then Palin went a step further and blamed President Obama for Arizona's legal lunacy: "And in clear unison we say, 'Mr. President: Do your job. Secure our border.'"

Good grief. Just a little reading up on the issue should have sprinkled a bit of doubt on the barren mental landscape on this subject. Here, Gov. Palin, read the editorial we wrote that highlights how the law raises the potential for racial profiling and poisons police relations with immigrant communities, to name two areas of concern. And then read this piece from Andres Oppenheimer of the Miami Herald, especially the part about Arizona's declining crime rate in 2008.

What's needed is comprehensive immigration reform at the federal level. But all the sensible solutions have been, are and will continue to be shot down by the Sarah Palin wing of the Republican Party. And as long as some Republican lawmakers on Capitol Hill remain fearful of these vocal reactionaries, nothing will get done.

Jonathan Capehart is especially sharp and eloquent today.

5. You're right...I went back and edited the OP to add his credit line.
I normally make a point of including it but somehow missed it the first time around.

6. Particularly because of the Know-Nothing Party connection.
Very reminiscent of the tea-baggers, imo.

4. Arnold Ziffel was more intelligent than Sarah Palin.
And he was a better person, too.

7. Not to mention he honored his obligation
Arnold could have had a spin-off, but chose to honor his commitment to Green Acres through the run of the show, as opposed to Quitterella, who has raised job-hopping to an art form.

9. LOL! The only thing Sarah is committed to is taking money out of idiot
tea bagger pockets and putting it into her bank account!

Other than that, she's just a whore, doing whatever she has to do to make money. When the speaking engagements stop, she'll toss the tea baggers out like a used condom!
