So the first thing I thought tonight about the election results is not something
i have heard the pundits say. Here is my thought:

People form both parties--the real Democrats and the real Republicans--reject the middle of the road approach and want people who represent the real values of their respective parties.

1. Right
Two party's advocating the same centrist agenda leaves both party's with no choice.

2. I would describe the same thing
as polarization. I've seen a lot of that over the past several decades, this just seems to be more of it.

4. Primaries are always about satisfying the die-hards in your party
Edited on Tue May-18-10 10:47 PM by WeDidIt
That's the way it's always been. Only the true die-hards in the parties bother to show up in mid-term primaries.

In fact, the 2008 Democratic Primaries were anomalous. Nothing like that has ever occurred before.
