Rep. John Boehner (R) Complains - "House Democrats Call for Government Takeover of Oil Refineries
Even in the midst of an unprecedented environmental tragedy, Republicans are doing their best to oppose any government regulation of the oil industry. Mitch McConnell opposed Democratic proposals to increase the damages cap against oil companies. Boehner is already sounding the alarm against additional regulation of oil companies as a government takeover:

Washington, Jun 18, 2008 - Two weeks ago, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) shocked many observers when she admitted to oil company executives during a House committee hearing, “This liberal will be all about socializing, uh, uh . . . would be about . . . basically taking over and the government running all of your companies.”

Most of those watching that hearing simply assumed Rep. Waters’ wild threat was just another extreme idea from someone on the far-left fringe of the Democratic Party. But today, a leading energy voice for House Democrats proved that her dream of nationalizing the oil industry isn’t as far-fetched as some may believe. Rather, it just may be the House Democrats’ worst kept secret.

1. It is easier to think of many in government as hired spokesmen for big corporations.
That makes understanding what they try to do in office easier to understand.

4. It is complete bull****. The GOP doesn't bother to shade the truth anymore. They outright lie. They
have to to compete with the teabaggers and Glenn Beck and all.

That is right. The United States President's criticism of British Petroleum is un-American:
