Rand Paul: Obama Sounds 'Un-American' For Criticizing BP Over Gulf Oil Spill (VIDEO)

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Kentucky's Republican Senate candidate Rand Paul is criticizing President Barack Obama's handling of the gulf oil debacle as putting "his boot heel on the throat of BP."

Paul says Obama's criticism of the oil company sounds like an attack on business and "really un-American."

In an interview Friday on ABC's "Good Morning America," Paul says the president's response is part of the "blame game" that's played in the U.S. Paul said that leads to the thinking that tragic incidents are "always someone's fault" and added, sometimes accidents just happen.

Paul began the interview on the defensive when GMA host George Stephanopoulos tried to clarify Paul's position on whether civil rights laws should apply to private businesses. Paul, who won the Kentucky GOP primary Tuesday, asked when his honeymoon with the media started.

Screw the people and small businesses in the Gulf Coast and God knows where else. Screw the wildlife, the health of the people in the affected areas. Screw the American people who are losing a big chunk of a beautiful coastline and wetlands.

10. I admit I'm out of touch w the mindset of anyone who would still call themselves a Republican, BUT..
aren't even Republicans outraged at how these corporations(BP, Transocean and of course Halliburton risked our environment, the livelihoods of the fisherman and others on the gulf to drill without emergency back up plans? Who TF does Rand think should handle this disaster? Should we feel sorry for BP et al because of their loss of profit and injury to their reputation? How can an educated man make such stupid comments?

12. BRING IT ON! Exposed Rand, can he possibly be more evasive
and dishonest? Maddow never suggested he wanted to repeal the Civil Rights Bill. The fact that he had problems with
one area of it and couldn't defend his position is where the truth can be found regarding his ideology.

Rand does not seem to be capable of articulating his message of small government, as he fails to address the
very nature of free speech and the connection he believes it has to business practices vs Federal laws against discrimination
based on race etc.

As far as BP and the oil spill, he once again, won't distinguish which regulations he would support..he should know what
they are by now. After all, he is running for Senator, and the idea that someone as he said always has to be blamed? So, in his
world there is no accountability I guess.

This guy should get creamed in the coming months.
