DULUTH, Minn. (AP) - A Duluth man convicted of using belts and cords to physically abuse five children has been sentenced to seven months in jail.
Twenty-8-year-old Jason L. Wiggins pleaded guilty in April to two felony counts of malicious punishment of a child resulting in substantial bodily harm. As part of a plea agreement, three similar charges were dismissed.
Judge Dale Harris on Friday also ordered Wiggins to undergo counseling.
Wiggins was accused of abusing five kids between ages 4 and 13. Prosecutors say some children had permanent scars on their legs. The 13-year-old said she was beaten about 10 times per month.
Seven months in jail for that. He should be sentenced to at least five years for beating the kids.
He should be served divorced papers and to be force into anger manangement coursework. This person has zero coping skills and should not be around children until he learns control anger and develop better coping skills for life.
