Since the Top Kill has been cancelled, do they have a "next" plan ready to go? nt

Edit: It was a DU thread saying Mike Malloy said it was off for tomorrow, info came from Reuters, but the OP on that thread couldn't locate it on the Reuters site, and I just looked and couldn't either. So maybe it's not cancelled 'forever' just postponed?

BUT - it brings up a question. Let's say they do it and it doesn't work. THEN do they have a "next" plan?

if this works it takes a little urgency off that one, they STILL are going there. If this don't work, well they have the urgency of that. All these accidents have had one ultimate solution, well

I can see how some took it the wrong way, but it says BP may find on Wednesday that they may need to delay or even abandon Top Kill.

But, for now, it's still on.

8. Yes. They want to put a second Blow Out Protector on top of the broken one
and it's already on site.

However if they screw up with Top Kill that probably won't be viable.

9. None of the journalists on Twitter are reporting it canceled. It could eventually
happen but it hasn't yet.

10. Another top hat plan is in the works if top kill is cancelled.
They plan on cutting the riser to make a snug fit and install a top hat which in the diagram has an antifreeze flow.
