2. Good. It's PAST time for a thorough review
of ALL of the regulatory agencies with the goal of getting rid of ALL of the toadies of the last administration that are still in positions of authority.

Good riddance. Where is Gale Norton these days?

http://articles.latimes.com/2009/sep/17/nation/na-norton17
<snip>
WASHINGTON — The Justice Department is investigating whether former Interior Secretary Gale A. Norton illegally used her position to benefit Royal Dutch Shell PLC, the company that later hired her, according to officials in federal law enforcement and the Interior Department.

The criminal investigation centers on the Interior Department's 2006 decision to award three lucrative oil shale leases on federal land in Colorado to a Shell subsidiary. Over the years it would take to extract the oil, according to calculations from Shell and a Rand Corp. expert, the deal could net the company hundreds of billions of dollars.

10. When this disaster first began
I said if nothing else I hoped some good could come of it by way of improved regulations and oversight.

I'm still holding out that hope and now it's burning a little tiny bit brighter.

14. What the President needs to do is take a lesson from the ancient Romans
He needs to line up all the MMS management employees in a room, walk down that line, and say to every 10th person that they are fired.

17. She was appointed in 2009.
I suspect she inherited the problems, but it would appear she didn't do enough fast enough to fix the problems or (dare I say it?) she's being offered up as a sacrificial lamb in place of Salazar.
