6. Wrong.
I know Bobby is a shameless self-promoter and opportunist.

However I support his efforts to bring help to the affected areas and people. He's not as forceful as I'd like him to be actually. Politics doesn't color everything in my life.

This isn't about Jindal.

This isn't about Obama.

This isn't about Carville.

It's about the Gulf.

Shameless critics and shameless defenders cheapen the discussion.

3. Oh, he's definitely not above that
Or using practically anything else for political posturing. But, since he's not held accountable for his sudden reversals, he can keep doing them with impunity. On Monday, he can complain about federal waste. On Tuesday, he'll be front and center in front of the cameras with the big novelty check from some federal agency, handing out the largesse like it's coming out of his own pocket. On Wednesday, he's back to griping about over-regulation and the stifling of business. On Thursday, the most dangerous place to stand is between Mr. Jindal and the nearest camera, as he excoriates the Obama administration for failing to micromanage BP's affairs in the Gulf of Mexico.

Some people might say that there's a price to pay, or at least the risk of sustaining some political whiplash with these sudden reversals. But those people don't understand that this kind of posturing is not only allowed for Republicans, it's almost expected. So Mr. Jindal does it over and over again, because there's no penalty.
