Dolphin Trainer for FLIPPER Tells us Why Dolphins Don't Belong in Captivity
From the documentary THE COVE:

"A dolphin's smile is nature's greatest deception. It creates the illusion they are always happy. The nerve central of any dolphinarium is the fish house. And if you go to any one of these fish houses, you'll see bottles of Maalox and Tagamet, and they are used because dolphins get ulcers because they are all stressed out. You have to see them in the wild to understand why captivity won't work."

2. I agree. It's wrong to imprison them.
Those which end up in human hands by virtue of rescue are a different class, and those might be better served remaining in some form of reasonable captivity.

I believe most animals should live freely, not be killed, captured or owned.

3. Wild means wild. I don't like to think of wild things in captivity.
Those programs do a lot to educate people, however.

It is almost like a few captives sacrifice their freedom to benefit their wild brethren. Captive ambassadors, if you will.

Except no one ever asked them if they'd like to be an ambassador.
